Serenity in LEGO
    Construction

Taking my friend's constructive (construction?) criticism to heart, I went back to my model of Serenity with the intent of rounding off all of the more square areas.

The main areas that needed work were the nacelles and the roof of the cargo section. I was able to "round out" the cowling on the engines by layering a progression of ever-smaller bricks along the two flat edges. The cargo area got a lot of sloping roof tiles.

The end result was indeed more rounded. The cargo area would get one more pass in the coming days, as it had climbed to a height that didn't match with the source photos. But the nacelles were pretty much "done" now.

(In the photo above, check out "Lil' Mal" as he inspects the ship.)

Here's another angle of the "rounded" fixes.

Finally, I took a bit of time to play with one of the side view photos. I knew I'd want to have some glamour shots of the completed ship for Desktop Wallpaper - and this was a test to see how things might look. (You can click for a larger view)
