Star Wars BLING
In the stock Snow Speeder, the co-pilot has a targeting computer and is in charge of the rear tow-cable gun.
The Snowspeed-R also has a copilot station (although there was much debate on removing it to put in a hot tub). The duties are vastly different, though. As noted previously, the Tibanna tubro-charge system is so touchy that it takes the undivided attention of the co-pilot to engage it safely. When in "Run Away!" mode, the co-pilot also fires the rear-facing Ion cannons. However, the secondary function of the co-pilot is now collision detection and range-finding. "There's nothing worse," remarks ace co-pilot Dak Jr., "than having to pick shredded Wampa meat out of the intake vents. After a couple times you learn to dodge those smaller blips, too."
