Bootleg Rating: StarStarStarStar (Four out of five stars)
Sightings: Conoco in Roland, Arkansas

Hoody Front View Cute isn't it? Sooooo like a Furby...if Furbies were 2.5" tall and powered by a pull string in the back.

Introducing.....

HoodyPet
Trembling Keyring
(No Batteries Required!)

So...let's run down the features of the Hoodypet:

All traits shared with Tiger's Furby.

And Hoodypets come in the same array of colors as Furby: Brown, White, Black, Grey.

But would that be enough to make this a Class Three Furby Bootleg? Well, yeah, I guess it might. But lucky for us there is one more bit of damning evidence.

Let's take a close look at the Hoodypet logo:

Hoody Logo
Boy...the logo for the "oo" looks EXACTLY like a Furby! Right down to the IR Sensor in the forehead (a feature lacking on the Hoodypet.)

What a shocker!

This logo appears twice on the HoodyPet hangtag, once on each side.

Front of Tag Back of Tag

The front of the tag, left, has the HoodyPet logo, the words "Trembling Keyring", and "No Battery Required!".

The back, at right, again has the logo, a child safety warning: For ages 3 and Up (repeated in Spanish and French), a "Made in China" line, and "USA Copyright, Trade Mark Patent Pending" and a UPC Code.

Hoody Top View But let's talk about HoodyPet's action feature.

Afixed to Hoody's butt is a small plastic pullring. Pull out the eight or so inches of string attached, and release!

Hoodypet at this point will go into a small seizure, vibrating and whirring like a mini Tickle-Me-Elmo.

The whole "magic fingers segment" lasts for about four seconds. But it sure is funny!
