My avatar is wearing the “Master Builder Academy” shirt from the new LEGO sets of the same name. They’re a really nice resource for people getting started in building – or getting back into building after their Dark Age.
I really like the logo. I think it’d make a great tattoo.
The end of white panels! Celebrate, all!
Circles! So much better than squares!
P.S. Where did you get the piece that you used for the background for the circles?
Dunno….it was in my “baseplate drawer”. I think it’s from an old Pirates set.
It’s from this set.
indeed it is! Thanks for the link.
I demand a Master Builder Academy tramp stamp, Doyle!!
Man, reading that description reminds me that I really need to start collecting LEGO… just seeing all of the awesome things people make, and some of the cool things that lego puts out, makes me want to reconsider my current hobby of making 3D virtual worlds, even if said 3D virtual worlds are really cool. But, somehow, a USS Enterprise done in Minecraft isn’t near as awesome as a USS Enterprise done with real, physical LEGOs. heh
Obviously, LegoDoyle continues his trend of being unable to actually come up with anything new, even if the results are sometimes funny. 😛
That leads me to a question: Has Chris Doyle been replaced by LegoDoyle? If you’re starting to think of a LEGO character as the creator of …. OH MYGOD!! Chris, please say it isn’t so! 😀
You can make virtual LEGO worlds with LEGO Digital Designer… And if you alter one of the program files, you can get a ton of pieces both old and new in any color you want.
Or you could use LDD 4.x
Well, that gives you some more choices, but not all of them. You still have to add Extended Mode to get them. And yes, nothing beats real LEGOs. But if you lack specific parts/want non-standard colors, don’t have the money to spend on them, and prefer design over play, LDD is the way to go.
Only problem with this, though, is that you can’t interact with your model. What good is a spaceship if you can’t pick it up and swoosh it around the room? 😛
Will he go for triangles or hexagons after the circles? 😀
WOOOO!
Aw, here in the UK we don’t seem to have those yet…or if we do i don’t know how to get them. Are they supposed to be available in shops or something?
Have you tried Shop.Lego.Com? I think they’re only available direct from LEGO.
MBA is US-only. “with plans to expand to other markets next year”.

Well that sucks.
You’re telling me. That’s too cool-looking to wait a year. And while I’m on the subject, shouldn’t the new hero factory stuff have been released yet?
I’m surprised this comic isn’t numbered +1 …. :p
Dang. Wish I had thought of that.
And I’m totally stealing the idea for use in tomorrow’s strip.
I just +1 on that comic yesterday. And then your idea pops up. My timing is a bit off I recon. 🙂
Dark Age…. [shudders] I think I’m going through that right now… BUT MY LEGO IS NOT FOR SALE!
Also; I guess I was wrong. Doyle isn’t (quite) out of ideas… Again, I apologize.
Really? Circles +
