Today is the “big prize” from the 2013 Star Wars Advent – Santa Fett. Jango Fett gets the holiday treatment with an all new torso design and holiday backpack full of 1×2 tile “gifts.”
Personally, I think they should have recolored his helmet into red and white, but maybe there were licensing reasons they couldn’t do that.
Tune in tomorrow for a special Holiday Wrap Up that I’m pretty sure might just be The Last Episode Ever.
THE FINAL EPISODE!!!! But what happened to Luka and Dounut and El Stud and the Brick House! It can’t end this way! Doyle it just can’t!
Was just thinking about your old posts on Lego knock offs. Saw a set at the Big Lots that was a licensed(!) knock off, Stargate SG-1. You could tell it was terrible, just from the cover, the (had to look up name) death glider was green!
They had those at my local Target. I don’t know if I’d really call them a “knock off” – probably more of an “off-brand”. But, yeah, wow that set didn’t look good. The mini-figure in particular was really odd looking. But I have to give them points for not stealing LEGO’s minifigure design like some of the other sets I’ve seen lately. There was a new friends-like set who’s name escapes me…but the mini was basically “Oh, look, it’s a friends clone.”
I saw a “Barbie” Mega Blocks and I said to my husband that it was basically a “Friends” knock off. 😛 I’m not going for the Friends, despite some neat looking sets, because I don’t appreciate that they tried to make “doll” Legos “for” girls that are larger, don’t have independently movable legs, etc. instead of incorporating the basic ideas into Legos that are fully compatible (imagine a Friends torso with “regular” legs…). It is sad, because one of the best things about Legos is that you can do just about anything with them, and they created a new line marketed toward girls not just with the “girlie” colors, but that don’t really fit with the regular ones, so they are already outside of the regular toy. /end rant Sad, because I think there was more potential there that they could have tapped into.
I really hope this won’t be the end of the strip forever, even if it means you have to go away for a while. This is probably one of my favorite webcomics of all time, and I’d be sad to see it go. But that’s your decision and it’s your life, so either way, I wish you the best and thank you for the ride. I’ll never forget fighting literal red hearings, traveling through Plot Holes, the interactions your characters had with you, everything. Good luck.
well it was a great sesoen so i hate to see it go but its your choice
Thanks as always for saving my bacon on several mornings when my son looked at me like I knew what half a dozen brown bricks was supposed to represent!
Hope you and the little guys stay around, have a great Christmas.
Doyle, I dig your stuff! It will be sad to see it end. I suppose it must happen sooner or later. Real life takes us in very unexpected directions. I hope you and yours fare well this holiday and afterwards. Be well.
guys, don’t assume it’s the end of the comic. The way he typed “The Last Episode Ever.” sounds like a play on a star wars title or event.
or it could be in context like “the last episode ever with (insert place, event, or minifig here) “
Well, im now sure its ending with todays CHRISTMAS POST DOYLE.
Yeah, that helmet just… doesn’t go with the body at all.
