The bus is a recent MOC of mine. I don’t normally build that sort of thing, so it was more of a challenge than I expected. Serves me right for not buying the City Corner set. (It comes with a very nice LEGO-designed bus.)

Only 13 more strips to go. 😀
Is there a large claw-looking thing nearby?
OOOOOOH THE CLAW!!
Wait… I thought that everyone who was shorter was killed? The dwarfs, Bilbo, and the MilkMan’s sidekick were all shorter… (Did I just cause a plot hole? OH SNAP!)
Just go with the flow. That Plot Point is OVA’.
I smell more Buzzkill coming up! 😀
I just discovered Chris’s bus on his Flickr photostream, and I must say it’s very clever! It’s 8-wide, sure, but it has 2-wide seating, 3 doors, a nice roomy driver’s seat, and a very bus-like feel to it. LEGO’s bus is only 6-wide, seats half (or less) passengers than Chris’s bus, and only has one door.
As for a rating I would give Chris’s bus 6 or more stars. I would only give 4 stars to LEGO’s bus but it does what a bus is supposed to do, anyway.
That is a nicely built Bus!
I dig the color scheme on that bus. It’s a nice alternative to the boring SMART buses I see every morning on the way into the office.
In case anybody hasn’t noticed, the busses colour scheme is amost identical to that of buzz lightyears, or in this case, those little green aliens.
Yeah, I agree with SquireGuyy, have an execution of all the little people!! 🙂
i wish you coulld use time travel to go back and save mister short
Actually, he does speak English. It’s just that the accent’s throwing him off.
Geoffrey, the seating is exactly the same on both buses.
Anyways…that bus is epic.
I own the city corner, that bus sucks! I love Doyle’s bus. First of all, the roof is flat! Second, it is the width of a bus, not a semi-truck. Plus, I love the color scheme! Great comic today!
@whoever brought this up:
they were never all executed. only mr. hort died. Bilbo fett is still at large, and the children grew up…
@Yodamann: You’re correct. While the bias against “shorts” still exists, no one has been hunted down for it since that early episode.
Dear chris, i know this doesnt have anything to do with the comic but do you know were a good place to get lego set 8097 at?
@OB1: Um…wait a few weeks until it’s mass shipping or available at shop@home? Other than that, you might try your local Toys R Us – they’re apparently getting the August SW sets early.
Chris: I love the 3-eyed alien guy!!!!! I just bought him on a keychain 2 weekends ago. (Ok, technically Dave bought it for me, but still, I squeeeeeeee!)
James if you’re looking at 7641 on the S@H site, it should be quite obvious once you check out the two pics of the bus that it’s a 6-wide bus. Chris’s bus is most definitely 8-wide.
The only part of the LEGO bus which could possibly be 8-wide are the tyres, but there certainly isn’t 8-stud wide building going on anywhere in the bus. It also has only 6 seats, Chris’s bus has twice as many.
@Obi wan kenobi: If you live In Australia, you can get it at Kmart and Toy Kingdom. If not, i can’t really be any help
