Two very diverse Musical influences today – Sesame Street and the Three Stooges.
I’m not much of a Stooge fan…I prefer the Marx Brothers. I wasted a LOT of time trying to find where the Marx clan had done the “Hello” bit until Ian Healy (of S-Team fame) pointed out that I had credited the wrong comedy team. D’oh!
I’m waiting for you to make a “Hey up there! Way up there! Whaddya say up there?” Sondheim reference, but somehow I doubt it’ll happen.
I’m wanting a Gilbert and Sullivan reference next…
I love the use of song speech for these guys, and the treble clef for the different “Hello”s. Really well done, Doyle.
I’m with you on the Marx brothers over the Stooges. Curley’s got nothing on Chico.
I don’t understand society feels that it has to be either/or: Star Trek or Star Wars, Three Stooges or Marx Brothers, Marvel or DC… I personaly like both equaly!
Dr Legostar has an excellent blend of many different space themed concepts and characters in his awesome webcomic. Chris has been doing a top-notch job so far blending in new plot elements from different and unrelated historical times.
I actually have the Three Stooges’ “Hello” bit as a ringtone. But yeah, gotta love those Marx Brothers!
@That Guy: There are 10 kinds of people in the world….those who understand binary and those who don’t. 😉
I do agree with you that it doesn’t *have* to be an either/or situation. For some reason, though, I never really clicked with the Stooges. Apples and oranges….
Now that there is a whole bunch of rock guys.
Anyone catch the Sesame Street reference?
Bricklink or did you just buy them from sets? Does the hairball even have any use for them if all they do is sing?
I picked up a few dozen cheap Rock Raider sets on clearance at the LEGO store a few months back…
how meny do you have god for bid if it is 3000
@ Doyle: Rock Raiders??? ROCK RAIDERS!?!?!?! Are you SERIOUSLY that out of sync with the times!?!? that’s Power Miners! Rock Raiders hasn’t been around for eleven years. And the rock monsters were bigger. and brown.
Anyhoo, I LOVE the rock monster army! Maybe there will be some Power Miner (or even rock Raiders!! 🙂 ) cameos in time for the Epic Battle of the 1000!!
Hey, man, lay off. Rock Raiders and Power Miners are almost identical!
Um, excuse me…what? Power Miners and Rock Raiders are NOTHING alike. Rock Raiders is an epic about space explorers mining for survival on an alien planet with deadly monsters. Power Miners is about dumb miners getting rainbow crystals and throwing stuff at farting trash cans. How is that “almost identical”?
That’s it, I’m looking RR up.
