Actually, that answer can apply to the question “Why did FOX cancel Firefly?” But only if immediately followed by “…For creating a show that those idiots at FOX didn’t understand would be so awesome.”
It’s getting to the point where the phrase “beloved secondary chaarcter in a Joss Whedon production” is completely interchangable with the term “Redshirt”.
>Yes… This is a fertile land, and we shall thrive. We will rule over All this land, and we shall call it… this Land!
Ah! Curse your sudden But inevitable betrayal!
<HAHAHA! MINE IS AN EVIL LAUGH! Now Die!!!
Just as a matter of curiosity, which Joss Whedon characters are you thinking of? I’ve seen Buffy and Angel and Firefly, and the characters that leap to mind are Tara and Wash, but neither of them seem to fit Loki’s description closely. Tars was a beloved secondary character, but IIRC she hadn’t just escaped an almost certain death, and Wash was a beloved ensemble character who had just escaped an almost certain death alongside every other character.
Pretty sure it’s Wash, especially since Loki’s line in the second panel is a slightly-modified version of a quote from Zombie Wash. And Wash got speared in the chest.
Maybe not end it right now, but come on, this is Doyle. He’ll probably fake his death for a few days, and then come back in some dramatic reboot of the comic.
I say, can Mouse take out Loki as revenge for the kill-steal?
Oh, and woot! First!
Darn you Whedon…
Obviously it was because Doyle stole his hat.
ZOMBIE WASH
Ha! More like zombie Doyle. How would an author become a mindless pale corpse wanting to eat everyones brains?
Spotted a typo, in the second pannel it should be through instead of though
I blame Joss Whedon for that typo. 😛
he’s pretty dead.
Is there any situation in life that cannot be solved by the line in Panel 4?
Yes, when asking the question “why did Fox cancel Firefly!?”

MY LIFE HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED FOREVER.
He did it in Avengers 2 as well. I think someone needs to give him an intervention.

Psssshhhh for some reason the middle line got cut out. it’s supposed to be:
And we shall call it, this Land!
I think we should call it YOUR GRAVE!
Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
How exactly is Doyle a “beloved supporting character”?

OK, I can see Wash qualifying. Who else?
Pretty sure it’s Wash, especially since Loki’s line in the second panel is a slightly-modified version of a quote from Zombie Wash. And Wash got speared in the chest.
Anyone else worried that Doyle is now completely silent on the site?
Which would make the final words of this comic “I blame Joss Whedon”. Oh dear.
You think he would end the comic where the story currently is???
Come on, Doyle isn’t THAT lazy 😛
