Rebooting the storyline: Simply put, Doyle put his foot down hard enough to make most of the webcomic scenes fall onto the floor so he’s trying to avoid rebuilding old sets! 😀
Please don’t mess with the series doyle! This comic series is currently the best thing i’ve encountered on this web. If you mess with the series, you’re bound to turn off people if something goes wrong!
I’m guessing the only reason it’s rebooting is because the banana caused the Brick House to mess with time and restart the adventure. I’m pretty sure it will be part of the plot though, so my guess it it’ll only be for a while.
I’m quite enjoying the Flashpoint stuff, like Thomas Wayne as a Batman who doesn’t have the same moral code as his son, the war between the Atlanteans and the Amazons etc. It’s quite interesting, that when you read the Abin Sur Flashpoint thing, that the Blackest Night is also still taking place in that universe, which means it’s pretty screwed.
Also, I have faith that Doyle is just messing with us, and that the story wouldn’t be rebooted.
OMG! So what’s the excuse? You walk into the brick house with some constuction workers and shout : ALLRIGHT! TEAR IT ALL DOWN! Or the plot hole grows and swallows the whole universe?
98% of what I read of DC is imported paperback compilations of lantern-stuff, 1% is imported paperback compilations of crisis crossovers and the other 1% of stuff is imported paperback compilations of random stuff so I know nothing of what flashpoint is but well, whether you reboot or you don’t reboot, stuff will happen. Stuff will always happen.
This sort of shift shows promise, Chris. Over time, a good deal of sideplots and character quirks have slowly derailed the strip and made the plot developments reach almost glacial speeds. It will be refreshing to see you bring your humor and storytelling abilities into this new and fresh universe!
Rebooting can be a good thing and it certainly helps in bringing in new readers, but at the same time, you have to satisfy long-time readers. I won’t pretend to know how to balance the two, because frankly I don’t know how many people are still reading my comic. Something I need to figure out eventually really.
Anyway, I think side stories are fun and a chance to develop other aspects and characters of one’s universe, but is something that more often rewards long-time readers. I like continuity though. Too many reboots and retconning can just as easily ruin a comic, since you have to keep retreading ground that has been covered before. As they say on the internets, YMMV.
i spent weeks reading the plot from the begining don’t reset it please!if you reset it that’s like bill gates stopping selling windows software!
of course that would get you back to work on denizens…..no brick house is worth it.
Sorry to break it to you, but those two things are not even remotely comparable. Why can you not be thankful that you enjoyed the plot curve of the classic Brick House and actually become excited by the fact that you will get to experience the fun of learning about the characters once more!
how about b/c some people hate new. Plus there’s bound to be people who don’t want to start learning a whole new layer to the saga.
I’ve read if not the whole saga, it’s pretty darn close to it and I still don’t know chunks of stuff such as how in the world did stale donut morph into a kinda younger version of himself
@sam i was trying to imply that the choice of the reboot would be dumb he spent 4 years on this comic (started in ’07)denizens is one of his side comics.
well maybe i would accept this….as long as he keeps the charecters i will be fine…for now.
Man, I remember that. Jesus, “Collectible #1s”? Because that worked soooo well in the 90s, didn’t it? Hey, maybe it did from their point of view, but didn’t people get wise to the fact it was a huge scam?
I hope that does not happen.
Nevermind, the reboot is very cool.
I’m so lost. I think this is a great idea and that you’ll get something amazing out of this change! Can’t wait to se the result!
Wait… By reboot do you mean completely restarting the storyline? I don’t think that’s a good idea.
Will there be new collars?
…I have a bad feeling about this…
A disturbance in the Force, perhaps?

Nooooo! Don’t! Maybe it’s just me, but I really liked the way this storyline was going D:
I’m still waiting to see Whisky’s sister get married! Hope that still happens.

The plot is beyond amazing as is.
^ seconded.
If you’ll notice the more things change the more they stay the same. BTW, it would be awesome to have a presidential appearance and appeal!
what is the hoodie on whiskey from?
It’s from the Skater Dude / Series Four Collectible minis.

Yeah, at first I was like “oh, he’s just joking about a reboot.”
But then I was like “But wait, a reboot could make sense, given the infinitive possibilities that banana could’ve done!’
So now I’m okay with this.
Please don’t tell me you will be replacing your Underwear of Power with little lines. That’d be too depressing.

That banana is definitely sending the house to the past of some kind of Ultimate universe.
Oy vey…
Btw Chris, can you update the links in the archive to link to the categories up to the present? It would make things a lot easier to read through =D
Page should be updated now.
You’re not serious, are you, Doyle?

1 reboot is too many for me.
Wouldn’t it be eazy just to add a fer more charactes?
Oh, I dunno… I thought Hannah Montana fronting for Van Halen was a pretty original idea. Maybe not the BEST idea, but an original idea none the less.
Of course that throws my usual “You have to start reading from the beginning to understand it” qualifier out the window.
^ i forgot about that! oh man… this is a strange webcomic. but that’s what makes it awesome. 😀
your just messing with us christopher right?please be just messing with us…please!
