I get a sinking feeling Grinchley will be forced to resort to using Hero Factory…or posssibly go around creating ‘heroes’ out of old bionicle parts from the last decade. In any case, it really doesn’t look like things will go well with the spinjitsu.
Slow shutter speed to get the swirl. I spun the disc, held Donut aloft by his sword, and took the picture. Nothing too complex. You can tell it’s a slower shutter speed since the colors are a bit washed out and the focus is just a touch iffy.
If I had done a strip like this, I would have done it the hard way and done a shot with the character stationary and added a ‘motion blur’ effect afterwards. I’m imaging how much of a pain it would be to do that and make it look good, and it’s frightening. So hell yeah slow shutter speed FTW.
Monday’s strip is going to be up late. I lost a bit of time this weekend actually building things. (Have to have something new to show at Brick Bash this coming weekend!)

Come on Lightsaber…..Come on!
Dis comic rokz
Ummm Chris, why does the Title #1146 not match the strip#1147?
Typo. It’s been fixed. Thanks for the heads up. 🙂
🙂 It was irritating my OCD 😉
I’m guessing that in the last panel, Donut’s being held up by his out -of-panel hand?
I’m guessing he made some sort of stand for Donut’s hand to hold. Either way that had to be a really hard shot to get. Kudos, Doyle.
Perhaps Grinchely should have given him a Monster(C) first?
Is this going where I think it’s going?
sad sad thing… bring on the timbits!
If Donut dies and regenerates again I’m going to cry, Stale is too awesome :'(
So will I, but Doyle is likely to say;
“you gotta break a few eggs to make an omle…uhh…donut.
The spinner in the last panel is awesome!
Yeah! How was that shot taken?

The mental image this gives me of the Infomaniac as a ninja is quite hilarious.
Yeah, that is pretty messed up.

Heh. And I happen to know your camera can handle this sort of shot. 😉

Heh. For those of you not reading the BCN forums, Dave has the same camera as me.

I do double length (or longer) strips when I need to. I just don’t have the time to do a huge strip every weekday anymore.

Nothing too complex. Just used a pen knife to cut a hole in the torso.
A Hole in the torso
So, what’s the name of the old Donut now? You know, Robo!Donut, Old!Donut, etc… what’s the previous Donut’s name now? Since he’s no longer New!Donut…
When he first appeared, he called himself Fabulous Donut.
