Actually, it’s only the Spinner sets that are overpriced in my opinion. They’re asking $10US for them…which seems about $3 more than they should be. The sets without the spinners are in line with LEGO’s normal pricing, at least.

If you go around asking why something is more expensive, you get into some debate about price points and the manufacturer deciding what someone will pay for it.
The bottom line is this: The company that makes the product dictates the price point to the company that will sell it on their shelves and if they don’t like it they can either lose money on it or not carry it.
They are $15 after tax here in Australia and our dollar is at parity. By way of comparison, the series 3 minifigure sets are over $4.
I am looking forward to seeing how you portray the spinning er spinner.
I have yet to buy any Ninjago set, but it seemed to me like the ‘spinner’ single-fig sets are made from the same cheaper plastic used for the collectible minifigs. I couldn’t tell whether this was the case with the regular LEGO boxes, for obvious reasons.
I can’t wait to see how Doyle is going to fit the climactic battle into panels…. because there’s no way that he would be a lazy author and avoid a climactic battle.
Speaking of over priced lego star wars sets I bought the clone turbo tank … It was supposed to be 160.00 plus a whole bunch of taxes it came to … 180.00.
I think it was worth it.
I’m getting a single figure from TRU quite shortly.
No Taxes here.
Well, the spinners do contain metal, so I guess that could raise the price.
No one Else is going to point it out? Oh, fine.
I’m ridin’ Spinnaz
I’m ridin’ Spinnaz
They don’t stop
Those skulls are orange….. CHEESESKULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s the problem with Nijago (other than the spinners-only sets, which are twice the price they should be)? Great bodies, a fun new idea…
@ LegoAddict: The answer is MONEY. LEGO’s doing this for MONEY.
Still, DOYLE! PUT. IN. SOME. PHARAOH’S. QUEST. SETS.
Dude, what’s with you and freakin’ Flying Mummies, and Pharoah’s quest sets? Ninjago is, like, WAY cooler.

Do NOT complain about things being overpriced to a college student. Lego has nothing on college text book publishers.
