Man, we must be on the same wavelength, cause I’m planning a Second String comic somewhat along these lines. Not using Chai Tea, mind you, but still, the basic idea and Tai Chi are in there.
There was a recent story in the newspaper that was claiming tea had something in it which reduced fat intake. I’m not holding my breath though, until they come up with a proven fact that it does so. I do drink a lot of tea though, mostly because I don’t like coffee.
@ Rozz: Actually, in LEGO Island 2, there was supposed to be a part where Pepper Roni was going to be called “Doctor Pepper.” Three guesses to why that never happened!
If I recall correctly, the moves of Tai Chi, when sped up, work very effectively as a defensive martial art.
I’m still trying to figure out the setup to use “Lapsang Souchung” as a punnish punchline, but why you’d sue Connie Chung after lapping Sang is beyond me.
@Geoffrey- There is, and it has been proven- it’s called caffeine. Any stimulant (caffeine, nicotine, speed, amphetamines) will speed up the body’s processes and cause you to lose weight- in fact, all “diet pills” are usually stimulants. The thing to be considered is that a. stimulants have other effects too, such as reduced bloodflow, and that there’s always other stuff in there- for example, soda has caffeine, but also has enough sugar to cause you to gain weight, not lose it- AND you get constricted arteries, which leads to a lack of, shall we say, proficiency.
Yes, this was neccesary.
Either Doyle has a natural gift for puns or he needs serious help.
🙂
Oh, and tai chi is more like yoga than martial arts
Yeah, oolong sounds like a good idea
*Orders a round of oolong for the meeting*
*smiles and nods*

Hurrah, truly awful puns. I’m green with envy.
I’d prefer Doctor Pepper

@Lich Barrister: I reckon you’ve nearly got it figured out. All you need is how to set it up in an upcoming strip.
I don;t even know what Oolong is.

In my opinion. there is no such thing as a bad pun. only awesome puns.
At least its not about butter.
@jacapig; Depends. Any Tibetans around?
DONT DRINK GATORADE!
its just overpriced orange squash!
AST used the same joke… only Lychee, instead of Tai Chi.
I’m from India. Chai means tea in Hindi!
To Doyle:
Seriously, are you Daneboe’s brother, or something?
