LEGO is slowly getting better in bringing ethnic diversity to their mini-figures. It’s a big debate – there are days where I wish they had just stayed with “generic yellow smiles for all”.
But there are more days when I’m glad I can be more inclusive in my character designs.
Does this mean that the mexican mini is going to make an appearence?
Okay. That was unexpected.
@me_can_san
…There’s a Mexican mini?

There is indeed one in Series 2, if you’re a collector of these minifigures he’s definitely a set piece, not the greatest but that large green hat isn’t too bad I guess: Mariachi / Maraca Man with all Accessories and Stand
Isn’t the green person the new nougut-orange skin tone?
P.S. “When the Maraca Man dances through the street shaking his maracas, everyone around him finds themselves cheering up. Where he comes from is a mystery and where heβll go next is too, but whenever heβs near, people smile, clap, and tap their feet to the beat!”
Hear that, he could very well be Swedish because where he came from is a mystery. He could still be an alien.
Doyle, did you go to the Brick Con?
I thought all the game figures (with the exception of Harry) were yellow…
Ryan
And MORE ACTION!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!1!!11!!!!!!!!111!!!!!eleven eleven!!11!!1!!1!
@me_can_san
Maybe he will be El Stud’s cousin, brother or friend.
@Ryan: He’s Talking about The White Man. I.E. He’s Dressed in White. :\
This makes me think of the latest “Space Police” series, you know, the one were all the police are white humans and all the bad guys are aliens.
Actually, LEGO has stated the minifigs are yellow so that children can assign their characters race (if they so choose) and all that. But I think that Mexi-Man making an appearance would be epic, seeing as I’m hispanic. Or maybe even El Stud’s wife? I could see her in the peasant woman dress from 10193, and the black French braided hair from Indiana Jones with maybe the new Atlantis woman head? Idk I’m just guessing… π
@ ALL U NOOBZ (JK) except THOTH: For your information, LEGO kept the yellow faces because they were trying to avoid race colours. Right on the nose, THOTH.
@ Pollinette yesterday: I do have some sort of idea for the two plots to come back. For the Red Herrings, the Clown/Fish Mutant can come back out of the portal with a bunch of Cola Brick Ninja-pirates (or was it Pirate-ninjas??), and Doyle can explain how they came together. But the zombies?? I think they’re gone, since there were normal people (and the French chef) at the Club 56, the Buzz-Bus drivers (well, technically…) and the cops who took the “illegal alien.” But now that I brought this up, I’ll bet Doyle won’t use it… You’re welcome π
I’m with you all the way for the minifig colours, Doyle! π
Oh, yeah! and what happened to Robo-Donut and Fox and all of them??
^ Didn’t Robo-Donut regenerate into Tyme Lord Donut through time-warp chili magic? And Fox and Wash went off to find Bilbo Fett.
