#1034 – Things to Watch out For
Sep30
I’ll be going more into the Bechdel test tomorrow. (Follow the link if you”d like to learn more today.)
I’m quite happy with the way El Stud’s personality is developing. Having the voice of reason and social justice come from a masked Mexican wrestler is just the right flavor for Brick House.
On panel three it should say “Mundo Perfecto”
That’s a new rule to me, but the notion of El Stud reading the excellent graphic novel “Fun Home” by Alison Bechdel is utterly charming. I also approve of his character development!
So do they want the readers to keep coming back or do they want to prove a point to Doyle? I guess both…
@Caieq: To prove their point they need to make a strip where the readers keep coming back AND the characters are happy. It’s a tough job.
@Christopher,
I know right?
Gasp! You’re meant to have a safety warning on that link Doyle! It’s full of pot-holes!
@Rj: TV Tropes links need a safety warning?
Though I hate to agree with RJ, he is right this time. TV Tropes needs a warning. Do you know how easy it is to end up reading that for ages mroe than you were meaning to? Very.
Yeah Chris, an entire night has gone by in a flash after opening up a single page on there, i just end up with a browser full of tabs that I MUST read every single one.
AUGH! I DID IT AGAIN! I READ ALL THROUGH THE EXAMPLES OF PLANET EATERS AND NOW IT”S 11 PM!
that happened to me one time on a site where people made their own comics. 🙁
glad I only read to the 3 basic rules and closed it 😀
In my opinion, Doyle, you’re playing the role of God a little TOO well… Giving your characters the illusion of free will. But I think you should make a deeper story (Red Herrings and the Brick Cola vs Cola Brick stories are still left with some holes that need filling).
Holy crap TV Tropes is impossible to read without filling the screen with 20 million tabs… Giant Enemy Crab! No Kill Like Overkill! the list goes on and on and on…
Wait. I’m no expert on Mexican– sorry, SPANISH, (I’m Canadian, like William Shatner! 😉 ) but did EL STUD say “WHERE ARE THE CHICKS!?!?”
