Confused? The characters are, too. But I’m sure they’ll figure something out.
I got the idea for this arc from an upcoming Ask the BCN topic: Characters that have their own life. (Direct link here, goes live on the 18th) My characters tend to do what they want anyway…what would happen if I gave them complete control of the strip?
My guess: They’re about to learn the lesson of “Be careful what you wish for.”
Well… It’s pretty impossible for them to do it without you… Are you really leaving? Congrats on four years!
@Toaadam: Sure, I may have to help a little to document their adventures. But let’s pretend, shall we?
And, no, the strip isn’t going on hiatus or anything.
Good! I hate hiatus’s! I know writers need breaks (being a writer myself) but I’m still glad that a hiatus isn’t ocurring now.
you’ve got to be kidding me… Whiskey’s probably just going to go get drunk. again.
and have liver issues. AGAIN
Maybe the characters will have an epiphany and find out that life is just as bad without Doyle directing things… nah.
I recall something similar happening when I joined my brethren during the Writers Strike a couple years ago and left the AST characters to run things in my absence.
You could always do something unexpected like let the audience cast votes on what they should do next! 😉
Hm… this is an interesting idea. I’ve got a semi-related notion to this one…
I hope the Series 2 Minifigures find their way in… or atleast some Spartans. Congrats on Four years, Doyle!
I doubt that doing what the audience wants them to do would go over well with the characters…
This, my friends, should be quite a ride — perhaps even more fun the annual advent madness. Congratulations on hitting the four-year anniversary!
@Caleq: It really depends on what options they get presented with, and since that’s up to Chris, I fully expect their running things to be going anywhere but good, anyway! 😉 I just thought that we, as their audience, could try to steer them away from the bad options! Or maybe into them, if so inclined. 😀
This sounds like it could be epic…
“El Stud needs your help to read them!” That sounds like something out of Dora. And (the word) Dona looks very similar to (the word) Dora. Chris goes out with writing a strange pun. Typical.
(P.S. Cheese people are awesome! I can’t believe you just left without adding one! DOYLE, I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!)
@skycatdog If us commenters get lucky we may get control of the webcomic, and then you could include your beloved cheese 😛
@Pollinette, I shall hold that as my only hope.
Doyle, STOP IGNORING ME!!!!!!!!
You had me worrying there, Chris!
I really thought you’d go on a hiatus D:
I can’t help but to think we are officially screwed. :/
Also, nice special effects! Photoshop’d?
I Find El Stud’s Words to Be Very Hard to Read Since They’re in spanish, But Thanks to Google Translate it’s Possible! (BTW, El Stud’s one of My Favorite Characters, Which is Kind of Strange Considering What I Just Said :P).
you are NOT our friend
The readers controlling it would be awesome. And it would also destroy the comic lol.
^
Yeps.
This is another one of those comics that is absurd in a good way. Open like a children’s show, make the secret message “I’mma on holiday now, go amuse yourselves and DON”T GO INTO MY DRINKS CABINET,, I”VE COUNTED THE BOTTLES AND SPIKED THEM WITH A POISON I SPENT THE LAST FOUR YEARS LEARNING TO BE IMMUNE TO”
My kinda humour. And now I must go, as my cat is about to do something silly with my bike.
Have a nice vacation
El Stud is the best character
