@Sue Doe-Nimh: It’s a really good camera, since it’s made totally of plastic! 😉
I really want one that can take good clear close-ups. I can get good shots on one of my cameras but the camera has to be on a tripod and mounted 2.5 to 3 feet away. Now if it could get the same results from 2.5 – 3 inches away, that would be great!
nice, love the idea. Years ago I mentioned Marty made a webcomic, if I ever show his comic it might be something like this (with the microfigs) and give you full credit for the idea. Nicely done.
@DrLegostar: You’re welcome to use the idea. Building more than a sofa at the micro-mini scale is a bit of a challenge in and of itself!
@Mr Bloxz: I don’t currently have a plan to feature the series 2 figs; I’m sure some of them (or at least parts of them) will show up in future episodes, though.
I can’t believe that the series two cost so much. I wanted the spartan, but to get him at the store would be $4.00. I think thats crazy for a single mini figure you get at “random”.
and yes I do know it is easy to get the one you want by feeling through the package for the helmet.
Since their lives are so terrible, they’re in some kind of denial and are trying to create a series where everything is happy.
That, or they’re going to make everything happy for a while before slowly ruining their lives as Doyle has done over the past few years. They want a turn to play God.
I just went to a museum yesterday and saw a boootleg lego series just like motive train except with cars on the back. it was obviously made in china and had some cheesey colors on the box as well as funny background art. It was made by a company thats logo resembled LWD, but it definitly wasn’t LWD. they were fairly big like a ten dollar lego set size. It had some funny text on it it went something like this “educate your childs bran with bricks”. It had a few spelling errors. I would have picked it up, but I had no cash on me. sorry.
will you continue doing the bootleg legos, I miss them. they were funny. if you don’t mind, I would pick it up on my own blog. I would however like to know where you got the bootlegs chris.
@corbien: I do intend to return to the bootlegs eventually, but there’s no reason you couldn’t do your own reviews on our own blog. The more the merrier.
Most of my bootlegs were sent to me from a friend in California – or were found at local dollar stores.
I really doubt that a robot can have a gender… anyways, it reminds me of when I had a nice little plot going on playing with legos, than my brothers would come and throw it for a loop.
@Penguindude – There’s few things more fun than blending up pop culture references. I remember an interview with the Pixar guys before “Toy Story 2” came out which discussed how happy they were to have Barbie in at long last, since they’d not managed to clear her for the first one. They’d wanted her to roll up at some point in her Corvette and tell Buzz or Woody to “Come with me if you want to live” but had to leave that out. I’m hard pressed to think of a more disappointing gap in pop culture than that one. Having Frobot have a micro Harry Potter say that eases the pain a little.
@Great Escaper: Set building for the micro-minis was quick, but I didn’t do much detailing beyond a couple of chairs and a poster on the wall. If things had continued with them I’m sure it would have been a much more involved build.
@Caieq: I think Frobot would disagree with you on the gender thing.
did not see that comeing
Aha! Everyone was right! The characters where making a perfect comic! Perfect set up.
Wouldn’t it be funny if the microfigs could hear the regulars? 😉
But where IS the Potter figure from then?
*snerk*
@Martijn, I just googled it, and it’s set 3862, Hogwarts board game.

Wonder what kind of camera that is that Whiskey’s using. He’s taking pretty good, clear shots with it…

Thanks for playing along guys – it was tough not replying to comments this week. (I knew I’d give away the setup if I did.)
First week I can claim any continuity or spelling errors weren’t my fault. And might even have been done on purpose. (and if you believe that…)

hey Chris what are you going to do now, because series 2 of the lego minifigures came out

I love the legos playing with legos thing. I guess they really are the ultimate toy.

I KNEW IT. I FREAKING KNEW IT.

there were four or five other trains in the series and were all pretty funny looking. they all had the same slogan on the top of the box.
Whaat? Those minifigures are that small!! I’m not buying them!
i think they are the height of a brick and two plates
frobot just wants to play with them
There’s few things better than the meta. Sweet stuff!
And I want to know where Frobot would take the story now….

I thought Doyle only took the week off. Doesn’t that mean that next week we’re back to normal?
@RJBT: I’m not due back “in strip” for a while. (The note said they were on their own for a week. Or two. Or three.)
wow that was….a shock unexpected but really cool
can scotch still talk
^ Yes. Donut gave him a communicator with built-in phone, remember?
Great payoff! (I wanna see this webcomic through, now, though…)
So. Who was controlling which figures? There’s four people and four mini minifigs. I’m assuming Scotch was the green guy. 😛
@Hurricane
then the green guy would have a green voise just like harry potter has a robot voise becoes frobot is plaiing him.
^ There IS different text, so maybe not.
isaac5: They’re 2 bricks high.
So does this mean we’re back to brick house? I wanted to see what they would’ve done with Dumbeldore.
…Just one of the reasons why Frobot rocks. He spoiled the “perfect” plot. 🙂
@Pollinette: Frobot’s a woman, y’know.
And why did Harry use a Terminator quote?
that was unexpected.
Well… then… What model camera is that?
Basic camera peice with a clear single stud I think.
do you know you can read the bar code on the mini figure packs to see what da’ character
is inside it? MWA-HA-AH-HA-HA
Was it hard building a microscale set doyle?
