Due to popular demand Connor’s visit has been extended a bit. And the more I think about it, the more I think “A Boy and His Boinicle” would make a great live-action movie. Except it already happened.
I had forgotten just how positionable Bionicle characters are. I think I captured Tahu’s mood nicely as he climbs to his feet in panel four…just a bit world-weary. (Tahu was introduced in the very first wave back in 2001 after all. He’s positively ancient in terms ofย the theme.)
Thanks Doyle ๐

“This shouldn’t take more than a strip or two.”
Ho ho. That’s awfully optimistic of him.
As fun as it is to make fun of Bionicles, they certainly are poseable. I was going to compliment you on the composition of the fourth panel anyhow, but you’re absolutely right about those qualities.
I’m especially impressed by the quality of the images, though. It’s tricky to get a full field of detail when there’s something big to fit into the image. Well done.
cooleis 1011 3 1s awsome took me 2 weeks 2 read up 2 here:)
With enough readership support, it’s possible Connor may have his visit permanently extended! ๐
woo!
You do manage to wring a lot of depth from your posing, Chris. I noticed that last time too when the poor creature was sitting, bored, in front of the Brick House.
Nicely done!
Yes! Panel 4 is very vivacious.
It might be to late, but One Way Out is on the netflix instant and dvd queue, you can watch the entire first season whenever you want.
I have been collecting bionicle longer than lego. the most I have are from the visorak horde series. the first thing I ever got that was made by lego was bionicle.
A Boy and His Bionicle. Doyle by Chance have you heard of the game A Boy and His Blob. Very similar titles.
@Gabe: “A Boy and his [Whatever]” is a fairly common title format. A quick look on Amazon shows: Blob, Dog, Violin, Machine, Piano Book, Pa, Baseball,….. you get the idea.
How bout…
‘A Boy And His Ninja?’
That’d be a GREAT MOVIE!
Last two
Yes, its a common title format but many things can go by a title like that. The game [etc] Blob and the idea [etc] bionicle are very difrent indeed. Plus, if your going to mention Tahu was one of the first, it would be an idea to mention he was also one of the last (the bionicle stars being the last bionicle figs after all and this tahu being the stars version). Fun fact: Tahu is one of the two charicters to share the title of charicter with most sets featuring them (the other being takanuva/takua and each apearing (in difrent forms) in 4 sets)
I’d suggest “A Bionicle and his Boy,” but that might be a film for the seedier side of The Brick House . . .
nevermind.
YES! Connor’s still here! I just hope that Tahu gets some action with the Golden Armour. I mean hey, BIONICLE hasn’t been getting much action in the BRiCK HOUSE, the last appearance being an alternate strip with Ehlek back in ’07, but I’ll bet a zillion false dollars that Donut has the golden armour in his basement. It’s just discoloured from the dirty floors ๐
Suddenly I’m wishing Ehlek from the 2006 “Tied up at the moment” prank strip would appear again.
bionicle stared in 1999.
@Hank: Uh…No. They were a new 2001 theme. See?
(Bricklink and Peeron both list the sets debuting in 2001 as well. If you’ve got info to the contrary, please share it.)
Well, the “Constraction” LEGO figures started in 1999 with the Throwbots (Slizers in the UK), continued with RoboRiders, and then BIONICLE in 2001, finally, we now have HERO FACTORY… and now, for a moment of silence in honor of BIONICLE…
My opinion? Keep Connor. We need a uninitiated guy who really doesn’t know what’s going on, the last one hounded off after a man made of butter…
Nice Action
Boinicle?
Hm…. I remember buying the original Bionicles… *Sigh*
Is it just me me or are Tahu’s hand wrong? I seem to remember the originals having those little black things for hands. Or have they changed the look of them again? I stopped keeping up with bioncle around midway through metra nui.
