As I understand it, this strip will work better for my American audience. Mouse means “upset”, not “drunk.”
Regionalism makes my head hurt sometimes.

We tend to call them soft drinks even casually.
Well, if you’re not talking casually, then everything that isn’t a hard drink (i.e. alcoholic) is a soft drink. Including stuff like tea and coffee (and, IIRC, some beers aren’t alcoholic enough to count).
It’s always been pop to me. But if you want to talk regional, it’s Duck, Duck, Gray Duck gosh darnit >.<
Out of curiosity, why did you make a mention of mouse meaning upset instead of drunk in the author note? You never said that word in the comic.
It references that “pissed” means different things to different people. To some it means “really drunk” and other “really mad” and others “really covered in peanut butter.” but that last group is usually made up a combo of the first two groups.
And I understand that one. I figured that you were probably referring to the word “pissed” up in the comic. My only confusion came from the word “mouse” in the author note. I’ve checked, and I cannot find any definition of the word mouse that could be even remotely miscontstrued as the word pissed. See what I am saying?

Soda most of the time, soda pop once in a great while, pop only when I’m around folks back home who don’t know any better. Once, on a trip home, I asked a clerk where to find the soda and he led me to the baking soda. Yes, it was a face palm moment.
I think Chris’s last word balloon should read “Whose idea was that?” but given he’s a bit pissed right now, I doubt he even cares! 😀
