Oh dear, this doesn’t bode well. If Olivia’s not being very Friendly(tm) to her own robot, who knows how she’ll handle the inexplicable appearance of a weird yellow-skinned, somewhat cubistic midget in her lab, brandishing a frog? Still, comparing the second panel to the last, I just can’t shake this notion that there’s some kind of shared “genetic” heritage between the two figs, there: sculpted hair, printed face, etc. Oh well, should be an amusing ‘clashing themes’ story arc, in any case.
Also, those 1×1 round tiles (like the transparent-green one on Nubbin’s chest) are pretty nifty; hadn’t seen them before. *runs to BrickLink to purchase a dozen*
The faces on these figures are honestly kind of unsettling. I’m not sure what exactly it is, but I think it’s a combo of the way the head is shaped and the way the facial features are painted on.
Also, I somehow seriously doubt she designed that robot. She probably just picked it up off a shelf somewhere and assembled it based on the instructions.
With every new set TLG brings out I notice they disregard their older heads and never recycle them into current production runs. They have many years worth of copyright on the ones that aren’t licensed theme figs, so why aren’t they taking full advantage of them?
You mentioning how their heads look “unsettling” (as you put it) reminded me for some reason of another site where some people have taken to dropping the r and referring to them as LEGO “Fiends.”
hmm, surely the robot would be made of metal and yet how because those arent even metalworking tools! and thats a woodworking vice! do i see a file or a hacksaw anywhere? i think not. oh sure there are drawers the contents of which cannot be seen but there surely cannot be enough cubic capacity in them for all the necessary equipment!
She probably made him out of stolen alien tech- maybe they’re on Scotch’s planet again, but in the future! Maybe Fox and Co will show up again!
I almost said ‘Fox and Friends’- if Fox shows up, that should be the name of the Arc!
Nubbin – I wonder if the robot gets a lot of underdeveloped jokes from Olivia’s other friends? If her name is Olivia, that is.
Hey – it’s WALL-E!
It’s probably closer to Mindstorms NXT…at least, I think so!
Wow. This is my first time seeing a Lego “Friends” doll, and… Wow. *Shakes head*

Does the absence of Grinchley, the Santas and Carl imply we left yet another story arch hanging for further (ab)use? 😛

“I have just one more question for you…”
Darn, I have that song in my head now -_-
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaugh!
Finished em all!!!!
