It’s Day Two of advent in the Kingdoms…what will come of it?
Day Two: Anvil, Forge, and Sword
Today’s mini-set is clearly intended for yesterday’s Blacksmith minifigure – LEGO has provided the tools of his trade.
I can’t say I’m overly impressed with today’s offering. The anvil is a nice design, but the forge is a bit too minimalist for my tastes. And why just one sword?
(Maybe the kid over in the CITY calendar took them!)
At least LEGO threw in a bunch of extra parts. Those extra detail elements sure do come in handy once the Advent Season is past.
In the past, LEGO Advent Calendars have used a three day “sub-theme” grouping. If the tradition holds for this year, tomorrow’s door should reveal one more item of use to a Blacksmith. Not sure exactly what that’d be…so I guess we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
You just seem to be getting tons of extra pieces. I didn’t get an extra flame piece today. Sad times, since I only have one other one like it.
I wonder how many swords you’ll end up with by Christmas between these two calendars. I’m better it’s in the double digits.
I got my spare flame… sorry, Whaleyland *starts singing “My Old Flame” in a terrible attempt to comfort in this moment of sadness*
In other news, today I built a house for my blacksmith.

I know, I know, coulda waited for tomorrow to see what else could be added… but actually it’s on the back of the box, and I think it’ll/they’ll/she’ll/he’ll/that’ll/those’ll be safe outdoors. And I was bored. And a bit snowed in and free from the shackles of college. I love how Britain just sorta collapses at the mere mention of snow! And for the first time in years, it snowed here before, and during December (well, it *did* snow here earlier this year, but that was last winter).
That’s a pretty nice build, Jimmy!
And I hear you when you talk about countries collapsing at the mere mention of snow. We on the other side of the North Sea (Holland) kinda have the same problem…
