Space Stuff

Some LEGO enthusaiasts are Castle fans. Some like Trains. Some like Town scenes. And some, like me, tend to fixate on spaceships.

Here's a random collection of ships I've built over the years.

Some of it has a theme:

"What a piece of junk!"

"She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself. "

The Millennium Falcon was designed to hide her capabilities - it doesn't make sense for a smuggler to highlight just what his ship is made of. But the Star Wars universe is vast. There are some people who aren't satisfied just to have "a fast ship." They want to look it as well.

Introducing Star Wars BLING.

Me and my caaaaaaamera! Bigger engines. Bigger tires. Ground effect kits. Gull wings. And chrome. Lots and lots of chrome.
There's even a whole sub-culture of folks who don't have fast cars, but still go for that pimped-out look. You know the type, you've seen them on the road. Spinning Rims and blaring stereo - it's all good.

LEGO® has done an excellent job of providing kits for the "Stock" versions of the more popular vehicles in the Star Wars universe. And, thanks to all their other kits, have provided plenty of parts to trick them out with enough BLING to make Jabba the Hutt drool with envy.

My mini-figure effigy set out to document some of the best examples.
