That being said, why bother with a plot when you can simply toss the old storyline into a mixer bowl along with a few new ingredients, set it to "high" speed, and in moments blend the old storyline into a whole new one?

Politicians have been doing this for ages with election promises, so I think this will actually turn out quite well, eventually.
