December Challenge: Too much?

I'm starting to worry that I'm asking too much in the December Challenge. I've had a few folks email me saying as much, and an equal number looking for some hints as to how to get started.

My thought was: if you have any small transforming toys lying around (And I just sort of assumed everyone did) you could look at it and just...copy the bends and twists that make the transformation happen. Yes, I know, that's a bit much to just wish into existence.

That said, I've done some looking on Brickshelf for inspiration, and I've found some neat galleries that might help with ideas and construction tips:
But what do you guys think? Shelve the challenge for next year when there's more time to build? Go ahead and see if anyone can figure this out by the end of the year?

I'm tempted to just let it run and see what happens - but the crushing disappointment of a contest that no one enters...can my fragile ego survive that?

As for me, I am working on the problem of not enough of the right color bricks. I think I have enough for what I want to do (2 ideas) but maybe not enough bricks, gonna try it though and see what happens.

Don't listen to those whiners! Of course, I'm still working on my entry for Pimp My Mech, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me...

Is Fox's head a custom? If not where did you get it?

doug: The best tip I can give you? Don't use PowerPoint. Go find a free graphics program somewhere. (Suggestions, anyone?)

As to Fox, her head comes from the Hitomi ("Hit on me?") figure from set 8107 (Fight for the Golden Tower)
(Strange - LEGO.com says it's not available in the US. I picked mine up at Toys R Us a few months ago.)

So in the US your not meant to be able to get the "Golden tower and in the UK you can't get "Supernova"

Doug: I have heard for comic making GIMP is pretty good. it is open source so is free.

Well, I almost have my first one done, so you should see a submission soon.

The second one should not take too long, its a good thing I have gotten so many of the exo-force sets.
